Healthy Lunch ideas

Just because you are home educating, doesn’t mean you don’t have to make lunchboxes or snacks.  In fact, you’ll probably find you do more than most!  Lets look at some healthy lunch ideas.

We recommend filling a small container with the amount of snacks your child is allowed for that day, and once they are gone, they are gone!!  Try to structure snack time around breaks in learning, as if they were at school.

Kids get bored if they have the same meal every day for lunch.  You need to provide variety and fun.  The best way to do that is by coming up with lunchbox ideas!

Children love to have a little treat in their lunch. It’s not always easy to come up with ideas and it can be pricey.  The best way to cut costs is by looking at a few things before you head to the shops.  Check to see if you have anything in the freezer that you can make fun things from.  Chicken nuggets with a healthy homemade tomato salsa?

Children love to have a variety of foods in their lunchboxes. In order to keep them interested, you should be making sure that they get to eat a different type of food each day. Here are some ideas for what you could have in their lunchbox:

-A sandwich

-Some fruit

-A yogurt or cheese stick

-Raisins

-Chocolate treats

A healthy lunch is critical for children in order to maintain a balanced diet and grow up healthy.  Why not consider some fancier options:

1. Pasta with Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomatoes

2. Crunchy Taco Pasta Salad

3. Honey Garlic Chicken

4. Buttermilk Fried Chicken Waffles

In addition to providing a meal, it’s also important that we provide our kids with foods they love and that are healthy. What great food ideas do you have?
